Amun Necklace

I made this necklace out of leather, beaten brass and gold-tone chain. It's hand sewn and looks rather striking as the main feature of an outfit, as it's rather large. Amun is an Egyptian god who represented the essential and hidden. The hammered brass pendants move under the leather, sometimes visible and sometimes hidden.

When I finished this piece it was obvious to me who belonged to: Karina, with her unique and amazing sense of style. A great story she recently told me, was that she was once referred to as the "different Karina" to distinguish her from another Karina. She's on her way to Eygpt this month to start work on her latest doco. I named the piece before I knew that. Co-incidental, no?
